What are Monthly Nature Explorations?
Monthly Nature Explorations were started back in 2015 (called Nature, Nature & More Nature at the time). Last year we took a break but are back this year keener than ever.
Each outing offers:
We cover 6-8 km at a leisurely pace on each day outing, stopping frequently (distances on camping trips range from 6-13 km per day). With serendipity as our guide, we look at whatever nature we come across, be it wildflowers, trees, birds, insects, fungi, or anything else that catches our interest. We do not merely identify what we find, but discuss interesting aspects as well, such as ecology, natural history, meanings of scientific names, lore, uses, etc.

Each outing offers:
- a full day (or several days) of nature exploration in interesting natural areas in Toronto or outside the city
- small group size (max 12 people for day outings, max 8 people for camping trips) to allow for maximum participant-leader interaction
- a highly knowledgeable nature guide, Richard Aaron, who has been conducting nature walks since 1991
- extensive nature instruction
